Therapist Angela Christian and her dog Lady will be out of the office for a few months this spring, so we have arranged to have an interim therapist during that time.
Rhonda Velders (former employee of SFT) started her own business (Illuminated Pathways Family Therapy, LLC) in January 2015, and we are very privileged to have her and Teddy return to SFT this spring to help our youngest clients. We expect that our young clients will love Teddy just as much as they love Lady.
Christen Geron will also be away for a couple of months, but we hope that she will return this summer. Of all the therapists on staff, Christen's spiritual approach is most like my own and I have enjoyed co-counseling with her in group, individual, and family sessions.
Along with the changes I just mentioned, I find that my own life is changing. In actuality, I have been in preparation for transition for about a year but actual movement in a new direction has only recently begun. Being in the active in-between place is a great opportunity to practice all the tools that I share with clients (to practice what I preach...) and to re-experience the broad range of emotion that comes with waiting. This personal experience is definitely renewing my empathy for others going through challenging life changes.
There are many uncertainties and unanswered questions in both my personal life and in the future of SFT. Even so, I know that God will be there to comfort and encourage me in all the adventures, challenges, and growth experiences to come. And he will continue to enabling me to help others in the way that he helps me.
Let us know how we can help you grow this year - whether you are a potential client or a colleague looking to build a practice. We are here to help.
