A few days ago we were in a shop in San Antonio, breaking up a very long drive back from visiting family. While there I ran across a book titled "The Energy of Money".
The timing of this find was very interesting because in the past month I've had more complaints and accusations of fraudulent charges than ever before in my business.
I have only just started reading this book, and in some ways I'm a little bit leery since it uses rather vague new-age types of references to spirituality. Like anything else, we need to assess the information based on what we know is true and how the Holy Spirit leads us.
In any event, the point of this post is about the timing. Here I've been in the middle of this flurry of negative accusations and wondering what happened to cause this all to come at once. It's been a struggle to maintain my spiritual footing because inside I'm just screaming "why are you trying to cheat me out of what I've earned?" But that's not the right attitude. That's a worldly attitude. That's a fear-based attitude.
So here's a little exercise from the book for you to try:
Take a notebook and for the next hour, write down every time you have a thought about money or finances. This can be thoughts about paying the rent, desires to purchase things, collecting payments from customers, thinking about investments....
Okay - now, how many of those thoughts are moving you toward what you really want from life?
I'd love to hear your experiences with this activity.
